Tentacles of Deception & Chaos
You may be among the many residents tired of hearing the name Allen Skillicorn. I understand. But the problem runs deeper.
Councilmember Skillicorn, a candidate endorsed by the political action committee ROT, was recently charged with speeding and driving an unregistered vehicle in Scottsdale—ironically in a city where he posted numerous “Skillicorn Safe Neighborhoods” signs.
He was also recently charged with hit-and-run in Tempe. According to the police report, Skillicorn “fled the vehicle on foot,” and “It is possible that Skillicorn attended this (Beer Fest) event and was driving DUI.”
This pattern of conduct raises serious concerns. Yet Skillicorn remains in office, consistently supported by some Council colleagues. He routinely takes positions and casts votes that many view as detrimental. He was the leading opponent (keep in mind his personal roadway recklessness) of a staff-endorsed federal Safer Roads grant. The vote ultimately failed 5–2.
Shortly thereafter, the Arizona Sun Times—rated by Media Bias/Fact Check as “Right biased and questionable based on a lack of transparency and deceptive publishing tactics”—published the article, “New Conservative Fountain Hills Leadership Kills ‘Woke DEI’ Road Diets,” featuring a prominent photo of Skillicorn. The article was authored by Rachel Alexander, who, according to the Phoenix New Times, had her law license suspended in 2012 due to “ethical lapses in handling a poorly written and later discredited racketeering lawsuit against county officials.” Her former boss, Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas, and his deputy, Lisa Aubuchon, were disbarred.
In May 2025, our new Town Council attorney, Jennifer Wright, publicly encouraged donations to help Alexander reinstate her law license. On the platform X, Wright posted: “I’ve pitched in. Will you?” A GoFundMe lists a $200 donation from “Jennifer Wright.”
The tentacles of deception and chaos. When do we say, “No more”?
